Products and ordering

The main features, the variants and the price of each item are shown on its product page. Check the summary, the address, the delivery costs and the total amount before confirming your order. A confirmation is sent to the email address you provided. If an item becomes unavailable after you have ordered, we will contact you to propose a solution that respects your rights.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency displayed in the shop. The price of the items, any delivery costs and the total amount payable are shown at checkout. The payment methods actually available are those displayed at checkout. No additional payment may be required without your agreement.

Delivery

We deliver to the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Standard delivery is free with no minimum spend. Delivery takes 3 to 5 working days depending on the country, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. The cut-off time is 10 am Paris time. For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties or import taxes may be charged by the destination country. The terms are explained in our delivery policy. A specific date or delivery time shown at checkout takes precedence over a general estimate. In the event of a delay, loss or damage, contact us with your order number. Your statutory rights relating to delivery remain applicable.

Right of withdrawal, returns and refunds

Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from receipt, subject to the legal exceptions, in particular for an item made to their specifications or clearly personalized. Engraved or personalized items nevertheless benefit from our 30-day commercial return. We also offer a commercial return of up to 30 days after receipt for new, unused and complete items. Items bought on promotion are not excluded from returns. For a change of mind, the return is sent from your country to Estonia: purchasing the label and the international shipping costs are at your expense. The cost depends on the weight and dimensions of the parcel and on the carrier you choose; check its rate before shipping. No restocking fee is charged. Statutory guarantees

Consumers benefit from the applicable statutory guarantees, in particular the statutory guarantee of conformity for two years from delivery and the guarantee against hidden defects. These rights apply independently of the 30-day commercial return. To report a defect or a lack of conformity, write to info@legacy-boardhouse.com with your order number and a description of the problem. We will tell you the appropriate steps; the remedies provided by law remain available.

These terms apply without depriving consumers of the mandatory protections provided by the law of their country of residence.

3-Year Commercial Guarantee

In addition to the statutory guarantees, Legacy Board House grants a free 3-year commercial guarantee from the date of delivery on every chess set, chess board, chess clock and backgammon set.

What is covered: manufacturing and material defects (a piece that is broken or split without impact, a faulty hinge or clasp, marquetry or inlay coming away, faulty magnetisation), as well as any piece that is missing or damaged on receipt. We replace the piece or component concerned; if replacement is not possible, we exchange the product or refund it.

What is not covered: normal wear and tear, knocks, drops, prolonged exposure to damp or to a heat source, and unauthorised modifications or repairs.

How to claim: write to us with your order number and a photo of the item concerned. The cost of sending the replacement piece or product is at our expense.

This commercial guarantee does not deprive the buyer of the statutory guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) or of the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code), which apply independently.
